How to play

Hold anywhere: the needle dives
Release: the needle rises
Pass through a stitch point: score and combo go up
Pass through dead centre: Perfect — more score and coins
Miss a stitch point: your combo halves
Three misses close together: the run ends

Misses expire after nine seconds, so a clean stretch always earns your chances back. The fabric speeds up and the patterns tighten the longer you survive.

Thread Coins & skins

Thread Coins are earned by playing — there is no way to buy them and they have no real-world value. You earn them from every successful stitch (more for a Perfect), every 10 of combo, every 1,000 points, and for finishing a run. Skins change colours only — never speed, scoring, collision size or difficulty.

Common questions

Do I need an internet connection?

No. Threadline works entirely offline and never makes a network request.

Is my progress backed up or synced between devices?

No. Everything is stored on the device it was earned on. Reinstalling the app or switching to a new iPhone starts you fresh.

I lost my progress.

Progress is stored locally, so deleting the app removes it permanently and it cannot be recovered. Tapping Reset Progress in Settings does the same thing on purpose.

Are there ads or in-app purchases?

No. There are no ads and nothing costs real money. Thread Coins are earned only by playing.

The game feels too hard.

The needle accelerates rather than jumping, so short taps make small adjustments. Aim for the next point rather than the one you are passing, and remember misses expire — a bad patch is survivable if the next few seconds are clean.

Can I turn off the sound or vibration?

Yes. Settings has separate switches for Sound and Haptics.

Is it safe for children?

Yes. Threadline collects no data, has no ads, no chat, no links out of the app, and nothing to purchase with real money.
